When I started this 365 project this year I told myself that I would take a self portrait at least once a month. Well here it is. Me in all natural. I am not a fan of wearing makeup. I wear it when I need to go out, but I work from home so there is usually not a whole lot of need. And my family loves me just the way I am. All natural. No frills. I am who I am.

Our daughter plays Travel Basketball. She is just a little peanut size wise, so whenever she is playing they say to her GET BIG. Well she sure did it this time. The girl she is guarding was a few inches taller than her, but Ally used her tip toes to GET BIG. And for the record there is nothing like 3rd Grade Girls basketball. End of story. :) Awhile ago an amazing photographer friend of mine, Antoinette Skinner, had told me about how sometimes she would just drive around with her camera and take pictures of the country scenery where she lives. It has stuck with me and is something on occasion that I like to do. Saturday we had a basketball tournament in Valders, WI and in between one of the games I took my 2 oldest kids to drive around and look at Wisconsin farmlands. This farm was my favorite. I just love the a bright red barn on a cold snowy day. Next time you have a few hours to kill just go and drive. You will be amazed at what you come across... This week has been one of those weeks for me and my stomach. Just doesn't feel right and then my head. Oh my head.... Thankfully I work from home so I can do with those little comfort items like this blanket I had made this Christmas that has pictures of my kids on it. It is the softest blanket ever and seems to be a hot commodity in our house... Here is our sweet Maverick. He is not really OUR dog, but he gets to visit us throughout the year. Wisconsin is his home away from home. He was born here but I can tell you he is not a fan of snow like our dog Daisy is. He walks through our yard very cautiously when there is snow. But, we love having him visit us.
We have 2 girls in our house that LOVE basketball! Your youngest just got to start playing travel ball this year and it has been so much fun to watch! Sometimes she does this crazy hand waving deal in front of her opponents. But you can't help but smile as she runs up and down the court knowing that she is doing something she has chosen and that she loves! Oh the end of the Christmas season... One of my favorite times of the day is sitting at night looking at the warm glow from the Christmas lights that I have up in my house. I hate when the times comes to take them down as I just love the peaceful and warm feeling when the lights are in full glow. But, I guess until next year when we can enjoy the season all over again... |
