I know when we think of something sweet we always turn to candy/cookies/cakes. Something loaded with sugar. But these days for me something sweet consists of fruits! And these strawberries don't get much better than that! They are some of the best fuel for me with my workouts!

Normally I would have to go with camping as my hobby. But given I live in the frozen tundra there is no camping happening in January.... So, I turn to baking. I learned to bake from my mom and my grandmas. Up until 2 years ago I used to bake 20-30 different assortment of christmas cookies. But when I started getting healthier and eating cleaner I sort of removed that from my life. It just became too tempting for me. My daughters though love to bake. I have found a new love for making homemade breads. My family loves it too. When they come home from school/work to that smell of fresh baked bread. There is nothing like it. If I could do that full-time I probably would. Between baking and photography I would love to do those things and oh garden. If I had the time for it that is I would love to do gardening. Just always seems to fall last. I like to try new things and that is what the 365 project is for me. It is getting me out of my comfort zone. Not just photographing every day things or just my kids. And I am hearing Hallelujah from my kids right now! So for my motion shot I decided to play with my daughters fairy lights. My motion was all about my camera moving and seeing what I could create. It was pretty neat to see what different shapes came out of this little test. What is in a players #? I guess it depends on the sport really. With basketball for my daughter it is the uniform that fits her. Since she is on the petite side she tends to get whatever is handed to her. And that is fine she doesn't really care. When it comes to her soccer uniform she is much more concerned about her #. For many years she had the same # 14, but when we switched clubs this past year she had to change #s. It was hard at first for her to get used to. But, now she loves her new #. Oh perfumes. My girls have really started to get into perfumes. They have so many different scents and looking bottles. Some days walking through the halls of our upstairs is like avoiding the perfume section at Macy's....
As my kids have gotten older one of the things that I have grown to love and have become quite passionate about is Sports Photography. I have studied it and made sure to have the right equipment for the right setting. I have a few basketball refs who have come to call me "paparazzi" when they see me at games. Friends will ask me if I can come and photograph their kids playing a sport and I am all over it. This week I had the pleasure of taking on a challenge of photographing a sport I know very little about... HOCKEY. Ask me about soccer, basketball, softball/baseball or even Lacrosse and I can answer questions intelligently (okay maybe Lacrosse I am still learning). But Hockey yeah I am clueless. I have watched the game many times from when I was a kid and my dad took us to the Blackhawks games thru to as an adult on TV or going to a local arena with our kids. It is a very intense exciting game to watch. And even for high school aged kids it still has that intensity! So, if you are ever looking for someone to come and photograph you child at a game. I am always willing to come and do those kinds of shoots. I actually LOVE doing that kind of work. Nothing better than capturing a kid playing something that they love! Check out some of my work from this past year below. My son constantly has something in his hands. Whether it is his phone, a rubik cube or some other puzzle thing or of course food because he is a growing teenager! I love to watch him with these puzzle gadgets. He is so intense with them and focused.
