At the graduation they have the Intermediate school principal come for the crossover ceremony. So, this was Ally shaking his hand. Yeah he has no idea what he is in for... She is unique. She is not like her brother and sister. She is her own person. She dresses her own way. She doesn't care if people think that her mismatch style is crazy. It is her and she will go a long way with that strong confident self-esteem. Over the weekend my cousin Amy asked her what she wants to be when she grows up and she said a movie star or a soccer player. Whatever it is that she ends up doing she will be amazing and we will be there cheering her all the way. We love you Ally to the moon and back!
Yesterday my daughter "graduated" from 4th grade. Where we live you go to a new school after 4th grade, 6th grade and 8th grade. So, they never really get comfortable where they are at. Although she has been itching to get out of this school since her sister left a few years ago. And we have been itching for her to leave this nest. She has been mentally ready for a year. She had an AMAZING teacher this year so we were blessed with that for her final hurrah at this school. But, we are glad for this phase in our lives to end. We are not sad for our time in Elementary school to end. We will not look back and cry at this time, but rather we look forward at the future because it is oh so bright for this young lady.

Last Thursday we had to say goodbye to our sweet dog, Sox. He was getting up to 12 years old. He had been with us longer than our youngest daughter. We got him the year the White Sox were in the playoffs, hence his name. Because yes we are White Sox fans. Jack our son got him for his 2nd birthday. He has been carried, snuggled and loved by family and friends for these past many years. He truly was an important part of our family. It has been a hard loss for our kids. But, it has taught them unfortunately things we love die at some point as much as we don't want them to. Over the past many months we have watched Sox get sicker and sicker. It had gotten to a point that we were carrying him up and down the stairs and outside to go to the bathroom. But on Thursday he had that burst of energy that they say animals get. And he showered the kids with so much love as if he knew. Not that long ago we saw the movie "A Dog's Purpose" so we talked about I wonder how Sox will come back. Will he be a big dog or a small dog. We look forward to one day meeting him again. We are glad that where he is at he can run and be pain free again.... |
