Last Thursday we had to say goodbye to our sweet dog, Sox. He was getting up to 12 years old. He had been with us longer than our youngest daughter. We got him the year the White Sox were in the playoffs, hence his name. Because yes we are White Sox fans. Jack our son got him for his 2nd birthday. He has been carried, snuggled and loved by family and friends for these past many years. He truly was an important part of our family. It has been a hard loss for our kids. But, it has taught them unfortunately things we love die at some point as much as we don't want them to. Over the past many months we have watched Sox get sicker and sicker. It had gotten to a point that we were carrying him up and down the stairs and outside to go to the bathroom. But on Thursday he had that burst of energy that they say animals get. And he showered the kids with so much love as if he knew. Not that long ago we saw the movie "A Dog's Purpose" so we talked about I wonder how Sox will come back. Will he be a big dog or a small dog. We look forward to one day meeting him again. We are glad that where he is at he can run and be pain free again....
