Oh perfumes. My girls have really started to get into perfumes. They have so many different scents and looking bottles. Some days walking through the halls of our upstairs is like avoiding the perfume section at Macy's....

As my kids have gotten older one of the things that I have grown to love and have become quite passionate about is Sports Photography. I have studied it and made sure to have the right equipment for the right setting. I have a few basketball refs who have come to call me "paparazzi" when they see me at games. Friends will ask me if I can come and photograph their kids playing a sport and I am all over it. This week I had the pleasure of taking on a challenge of photographing a sport I know very little about... HOCKEY. Ask me about soccer, basketball, softball/baseball or even Lacrosse and I can answer questions intelligently (okay maybe Lacrosse I am still learning). But Hockey yeah I am clueless. I have watched the game many times from when I was a kid and my dad took us to the Blackhawks games thru to as an adult on TV or going to a local arena with our kids. It is a very intense exciting game to watch. And even for high school aged kids it still has that intensity! So, if you are ever looking for someone to come and photograph you child at a game. I am always willing to come and do those kinds of shoots. I actually LOVE doing that kind of work. Nothing better than capturing a kid playing something that they love! Check out some of my work from this past year below. My son constantly has something in his hands. Whether it is his phone, a rubik cube or some other puzzle thing or of course food because he is a growing teenager! I love to watch him with these puzzle gadgets. He is so intense with them and focused.
Today's theme was something you wear. There were so many different ways I could have gone with this theme. But I kept going back to my rings. I never take them off. I don't. I know that may seem odd and at times like when I went to Puerto Rico with my daughter it drove my husband crazy that I wore my jewelry there. But, it is a part of me. It is an important part of me that I am not willing to take off. And it represents so much more than our wedding day. It is a symbol of Our family, Our unity, Our love. Oh the infamous self portrait. You know it is coming, but you are just never truly prepared for it. There are reasons I prefer to be on the photographer side rather than the getting my picture taken. Just not comfortable in front of the camera. Kind of funny when you think about it. But today my day was about meal prep for the week. So, that's my self portrait. It's my every day. Getting back to my healthy lifestyle so I can be the best me! Sure was a beautiful sky yesterday for capturing my daily picture which was just looking up and snapping. I love the colors you can see in the sky thanks to the sun rising. As cold as it was here we still had sun shining and I will take that any day over snow! Granted we really have not gotten that much snow. Normally we would have forts built in our yard by now and at this point our grass is all you see no snow..
I pass by these boots every day when I walk in our house. Yes they just sit here in our garage like this. But today as I was looking at them I realized WOW my son is no longer a boy. These are his boots. They are a size 11 boot. They are a young mans boots. Where did the time go..... In just a couple weeks he will be 14 years old. Wish time would just slow down for a bit...
